“women’s day” for a non-dualist

Taken from my recent Instagram post:

I’m not sure what it means or doesn’t mean to be a woman. I do & I don’t identify with that label. I pray to the lineage of women before me and witness their burdens and blessings, and I am comfortable knowing that sometimes I feel like a woman, sometimes I don’t.

I honor the nurturing of Yin energy & balancing it with my predominantly Yang conditioning. I am so vast and also so precise that I can be nothing, something, everything at any given moment. It’s a continual shifting, balancing, unlearning, learning.

Instead of woman, I identify with the Great Mother. Not a Goddess though, cos anytime mens have said that to me as a compliment I get annoyed. Unless you are identifying me as Goddess in yogic & ritual contexts, paying me, or exhibit true understanding of what you’re experiencing through me.

I value my femmeness & identify as non-binary. But what I really mean is I am constantly working towards non-dual vision, meaning I am trying to wake up to what is & undo the illusion of separation.

Not just separation of you & me, flower & me, murderer & me, but separation between myself & myself. 

Every horrible intrusive thought & every genius creative thought is me. Every part that feels abandoned and every part that feels belonging?

How to hold them all in true love?

First step for me is to see things as they really are. What is here right now? Don’t push it away or ignore it. Let it be here, the anger, grief, uncertainty. Completely welcome it. 

Totally allow all of your aspects and parts and relish in them. Cringey, right?

Then, I track the pleasure in all I am experiencing, & I mean ALL. If we are all the Pleasure of God then everything can be experienced with grace, acceptance, excitement. This acceptance often allows for situations where what we’re feeling isn’t isolated, but collective & intergenerational (patriarchy, capitalism, war, racism, etc).

When we allow the pleasure of what is to rise in us, only then through that complete allowance and acceptance can we integrate these “shadow” parts and shift our circumstances.

Lol anyway, hail to the Great Mother who is without gender and is many things, such as Life Creation Desire Nurture Nature Nonjudgment and wholly, entirely, without exception, Acceptance (with pleasure).
